Tom's Topical Tips
I am not a great fan of gardening books in general, Hessayon being a brilliant
exception, very simple to follow and not full of unnecessary information.
However, one book I do have, and which I think most people would love, is
"The complete old wives' lore for gardeners" (isbn 0-370-31379-8)
by Bridget and Maureen Boland. Sadly I suspect it is out of print, but somewhere
second hand copies must be available. It is amusing and a good read even
if you are not a gardener. Do try and find a copy, I promise you will not
regret it. Tom

Crop of the Month
Broad Beans
An easy to grow crop which rarely fails.
Broad Beans freeze well so any glut can be frozen for later use.
